Payment Authorizations

When you place an order at nutricity.uk, we request an authorisation from your bank or card issuer to reserve funds until your payment is fully processed or the authorisation expires.

What is a Payment Authorisation?

Some banks refer to these authorisations as "pending" or "processing" charges. After you place an order, we contact your issuing bank to confirm that your payment method (e.g., credit/debit card, PayPal) is valid and that sufficient funds are available. This is a standard security measure to protect both you and our platform.

Important Notes:

  • Most banks hold these authorisations for up to 7 business days. Prepaid cards may have longer hold periods.
  • When you place your first order with us, a temporary £1.00 authorisation may appear on your statement to verify your card. This will expire within 10 business days without becoming a charge.
  • It is not unusual for an authorisation attempt to fail once or twice before being accepted by the issuing bank.
  • If we encounter any difficulty authorising your payment method, you will be notified via email to update your payment details.

What to Do If You See a Pending Charge

If you notice a pending charge or authorisation hold on your bank statement and have questions, we recommend contacting your bank, card issuer, or payment provider directly for specific details related to your account policies.
